Where possible, please read with your child every day. Even if it is just 5 minutes before or after school, this will really help your child to tackle the longer texts they will be expected to read later in the year. Comments about their fluency and understanding can be recorded in their record and we will change their book as often as possible but it is recommended that they read each one multiple times.
A Maths task based on the current learning will be sent home each week. The sheet should be stuck into the blue Learning log at home. This will aim to consolidate what we have been learning in class and so your child should have some new strategies for solving any tricky problems.
Each week, one English task from the homework book will be assigned. The date and page number will be detailed in the table below.
Please mark the homework with your child at home. This allows you to support any corrections. Teachers will collect the books in once every half term to look at and sign. If you would like support or feedback on something specific you can bring the homework in early and it will be returned within 3 days.
We will also be sending home Learning Logs with creative or research based homework tasks centred around our current topic. These can be as brief or detailed as your child has time for.
