On Tuesday 5th June, Year 5 went on a trip to Eden Camp. We learnt all about WWII and and what it was like for families around the world. We also watched a puppet show that was set from the 1940's. I would like to say how proud I am of Year 5 as they represented Parkside fantastically! Also thank you to all the adults who also helped out. Lovely day had by all!
All of Year 5 have done Parkside proud with their fantastic determination and enthusiasm to complete 26 miles around the park in 26 school days! Most children have improved on their time each run, which is a great achievement. WELL DONE YEAR 5!
Houses for Harry Potter day on Thursday 1st February will be as follows:
Thornhill = Hufflepuff
Portman = Ravenclaw
Chapel = Slytherin
Victoria = Gryfindor
This week Sycamore Class have been on a trip to Bradford Alhambra where they joined another school to practise their skills and parts for Shakespeare. The morning was full of excitement with different fun and engaging activities.
Also this week we have been learning about insects and amphibians, we acted out the life cycle of a frog which made Miss Griffiths and Miss Harris laugh a lot!!! Some great drama skills by all!
After a busy week Year 5 are back into learning the trumpets with Mr Roberts. I am sure the rest of school will be awoken by our incredible noise!
This week we have mastered the notes C, E and D, I wonder who will remember these notes next week!
This week has been a Learning Launch focused around Growth Mindset. Over the course of the week, we have looked at all the empowering learning targets. Sycamore class has focused their learning all around being a self-manager. As a class, we looked at what was meant by the term self-manager and created characters to represent our target.
Congratulations to Patrick who won the class design for self-manager.
