Partnership with Parents

Parents are encouraged to become active participants in their child’s education. We hope that you and your family will feel comfortable in school. Parent – teacher consultations are held in the Autumn and Spring terms and a written report is produced in

the Summer term. Each year in the Summer term, parents and carers of children due to start in Reception are invited to a meeting to learn more about school life.

Day to day problems which arise will be dealt with quickly. All in school are committed to providing a happy and stable environment for the children.
We positively encourage all parents and carers to talk to us if there are any problems or queries – however small they may seem. Please remember though that teachers have 30 children to care for so if you would like to talk to them make an appointment so that our staff can give you their full attention.

We benefit from a great deal of help offered by parents and friends of the school – help with sports, baking, needlework, accompanying school visits and other more general activities. If you have any spare time to give you will be most welcome, please contact your child’s class teacher.
In line with government policy, all volunteers in school must receive a check through the Criminal Records Bureau.

All parents are automatically members of Friends of Calverley Parkside Association, which exists to promote the welfare of the school. They arrange various events throughout the year such as the children’s disco, Xmas Fair, Ladies’ fashion night and the Summer barbeque. Funds are raised to buy resources for the benefit of all the children in school – currently we are saving up to improve the school playground.
