Meet the Team

At Calverley Parkside, the safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. Our dedicated safeguarding team works tirelessly to ensure that every child feels safe, secure, and supported.

Who is the Safeguarding Team?

Our safeguarding team consists of trained professionals who are experts in child protection. This includes:

• Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Chris Jolley
• Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL): Lucy Larkin
• Child Protection Officer: Leona Veitch
• All school staff: Every member of our staff is trained to recognize and respond to safeguarding concerns.

What Does the Safeguarding Team Do?

• Create a Safe Environment: We implement policies and procedures to create a safe and secure environment for all children.
• Identify and Respond to Concerns: We are trained to identify signs that a child may be at risk of harm, and we take swift action to address any concerns.
• Provide Support: We offer support to children and families who may be experiencing difficulties.
• Work with External Agencies: We collaborate with other agencies, such as social services and the police, to ensure that children receive the help they need.
• Preventative Measures: We deliver educational programs to raise awareness of safeguarding issues and empower children to stay safe.

Our Safeguarding Commitment:

• Open Door Policy: We encourage children and parents to share any concerns they may have with a member of the safeguarding team.
• Confidentiality: We treat all disclosures with sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Ongoing Training: Our staff receive regular training to stay up-to-date with the latest safeguarding guidance.

How You Can Help:

• Talk to your child: Encourage your child to talk to you or a trusted adult if they are worried or upset about anything.
• Report concerns: If you have any concerns about your child's safety or well-being, please contact a member of the safeguarding team immediately.
