❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What hours are covered by my 15 or 30 hours of childcare funding?

Funding strictly covers our core learning sessions: Mornings (08:30 – 11:30) and Afternoons (12:30 – 15:30). Funding does not cover the daily lunch hour (11:30 – 12:30), which is a payable extra for any full school days your child attends.

How much does the lunch provision cost?

Lunch provision costs £5.50 per day. If your child attends a full day (08:30 – 15:30), this covers the supervised hour between the morning and afternoon sessions.

15-hour places require 2 days of lunch cover per week (£11.00 total).

30-hour places require 5 days of lunch cover per week (£27.50 total).

Can I mix and match the days for a 15-hour place?

To ensure a consistent routine for the children and consistent staffing, we offer two fixed options:

Option 1: Monday (all day), Tuesday (all day), and Wednesday morning.

Option 2: Wednesday afternoon, Thursday all day, and Friday all day.

Do I need to do anything to keep my 30-hour funding?

Yes. If your child has a 30-hour full-time place, you must renew your 30-hour eligibility code via the government website every term. The school office will remind you, but failing to renew the code on time may mean you lose your funded place.

What happens if I need childcare outside of standard school hours?

We have fantastic wraparound care right here on-site! You can book your child into our Before School Club (from 07:45 for £5.50) or our After School Care (until 17:30 for £11.00).

Do you offer childcare during the school holidays?

Yes! We work in partnership with Kids Club Calverley, who run holiday clubs on-site during the school breaks. This allows us to provide year-round care for families who need it. You can find full details on our dedicated Kids Club Calverley page.

How can we look around the Nursery?

We would love to show you around! Please contact our school office on 0113 257 0884 or email office@cps.owlcotesmat.org to book a tour or ask any questions about your eligibility for funding.
