    Support for Families

    At Calverley Parkside, we believe in a holistic approach to education, and we recognise that children's well-being is essential for their learning and development. We are fortunate to work closely with a number of external agencies who provide valuable support to our students and families.

    Here are some of the key services we can access:

    Mindmate:

    Mindmate is a fantastic resource offering mental health and emotional wellbeing support for children and young people in Leeds. They provide a wealth of information, advice, and support on a range of topics, including:

    • Anxiety: Mindmate offers resources and strategies to help children understand and manage anxiety.
    • Low Mood: Information and support for children experiencing low mood or depression.
    • Self-Harm: Guidance and support for young people who self-harm.
    • Stress: Tips and techniques for coping with stress.

    How to Access Mindmate:

    School staff can make referrals to Mindmate for students who may benefit from their services. Mindmate also offers valuable resources for parents, including workshops, online information, and peer support groups. You can find out more on their website: https://mindmate.org.uk/

    Pudsey Cluster:

    The Pudsey Cluster is a partnership of schools and other agencies working together to support children and families in the Pudsey area. They offer a wide range of services, including:

    • Play Therapy: Play therapy is a form of therapy that uses play to help children explore their emotions and develop coping strategies.
    • Family Support: Pudsey Cluster provides support to families in the home, helping to address issues that may be affecting a child's well-being.
    • Emotional Wellbeing: This includes counselling for children, support groups, and other interventions to promote emotional wellbeing.
    • Speech and Language Therapy: Support for children with speech and language difficulties.
    • Occupational Therapy: Help for children with physical or developmental challenges.

    How to Access Pudsey Cluster Services:

    Referrals to the Pudsey Cluster can be made by school staff, or families can contact them directly. To find out more about their services and how to access them, please visit their website: https://pudseycluster.org/

    Other Support Services:

    In addition to Mindmate and the Pudsey Cluster, we also work with a range of other agencies, including:

    • Social Services: We work closely with social services to provide support to families who require more intensive intervention.
    • Educational Psychologists: Educational psychologists provide assessments and support for children with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
    • School Nurse: Our school nurse offers advice and support on health-related issues.
