Speech and Language at Parkside

Calverley Parkside receives specialist support from a speech and language therapist, through our traded offer with the cluster. This means we receive 3 visits a term for the assessment of children, or for the upskilling of our staff in the delivery of speech and language interventions.

If you, or a member of staff has a concern about the speech and language development of your child, the SENDCo can refer your child for an assessment from the specialist therapist.

Once the assessment has been completed, school receives a plan, with targets and resources, to support your child in their development in this area.

A member of staff will deliver these sessions, and after 6 months (minimum set by traded offer), your child can be reassessed and given new targets dependent on the progress they make.
