Science

In Science this half term we will be studying living things and their habitats.  In this unit we will be looking at life cycles of different animals including mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds.

Geography

In Geography this half term we will be studying South America and Rainforests. In this unit we will be studying South America with a focus on Brazil. We will also learn about rainforests and the challenges that tropical rainforests are currently facing. Please find the knowledge organiser below. 

PSHE

In PSHE this half term we will start our DATE (Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco Education) topic. In this unit we will learn about the risks associated with smoking. We will also learn about the difference influences of drug use and look at strategies to resist peer pressure. 

RE

In RE this half term will be learning about Covenants. We will explore some of the different covenants between God and various key figures in the bible in both the Old and New Testament. This includes Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus. We will explore core beliefs of Christians regarding Covenants and their importance. We will make comparisons between different faiths' views.  

PE

In PE this half term, our Monday session will be orienteering. In this PE unit we will be looking at the importance of communication for success in team games. 

Music

In Music this half term, year 5 will be learning to play the Ukulele!
